When it comes to protecting your home, the security door you choose makes a big difference. At Allied Iron, we offer both Standard Security Doors and Regal Security Doors, each designed to provide strength, durability, and visual appeal. The difference comes down to the door’s construction, frame, and overall design possibilities.
Door Shell Size & Structure
The Standard Security Door is built with a 1” x 2” door shell, offering solid protection and a classic structure.
In comparison, the Regal Security Door features a 1-1/2” x 4” door shell, giving it a more robust and substantial build. This wider door shell not only enhances durability but also opens up new design possibilities by eliminating the need for horizontal bars.
Frieze Area Design Difference
One of the most noticeable differences between the two doors is the frieze area.
Standard Security Doors typically include two horizontal bars in the design—these connect to the lock box and help conceal it. While functional, they slightly limit the visual design area.
Regal Security Doors, on the other hand, remove the need for those horizontal bars. Thanks to the 4-inch door shell, the lock box is fully concealed within the frame. This creates a cleaner, uninterrupted design, giving homeowners more flexibility to showcase scrolls, decorative patterns, or minimalist looks.
Outer Frame Options
Both door types come standard with a 2” outer frame that provides strength and structure.
However, Regal Security Doors offer upgraded options with 3” or 4” wide outer frames—ideal for homeowners who want a frame wide enough to cover existing wood trim for a more finished and polished appearance.
Hardware and Customization Options
Every Allied Iron security door comes with standard lock and lever hardware, available in your choice of color to complement your home’s style.
For those choosing the Regal series, you can elevate your entryway further with custom pull handles, adding a touch of luxury and uniqueness to your security door.
Which Security Door Is Right for You?
If you’re looking for trusted strength and classic design, the Standard Security Door is an excellent choice.
But if you prefer a bolder, uninterrupted look with upgraded design flexibility and enhanced structure, the Regal Security Door may be the perfect fit for your home.
Both options are custom-built by Allied Iron and precision-measured by our qualified technicians to ensure a perfect fit for your entryway.
